Balliol College Bursary
We offer one Record Bursary each year to a Balliol College,
Oxford University, student which includes financial support, a
summer internship opportunity and a full-time job at Record at the
end of your degree. The condition of this Bursary is that you
should work for a minimum of one year with us following your
graduation.
The Bursary provides an excellent opportunity to take a first
step in a career in currency management. We will get to know you
during your time as a Bursary holder and when you have finished
your studies we will find you a place at Record that is in keeping
with your skills and interests. You may be placed in a particular
department or spend time in more than one department.
The closing date for bursary applications has now passed for our
2012 scheme and we are no longer accepting applciations.
Testimonial
George Harnett Bursary Holder 2009 and joined us in
October 2010: "As the first bursary holder to join Record,
I benefitted greatly from the opportunity to get to know everyone
before starting here full time. Record is a company that truly
values its interns and bursary holders, and everyone involved in
the program goes out of their way to help you and to keep in
touch.
The Record internship and bursary programs provide excellent
opportunities for students from all academic disciplines. My
internships at Record, coming from a degree in Modern History, were
widely varied and intellectually challenging. Everyone who you work
with at Record is very supportive, particularly as you are getting
up to speed with the often challenging work that interns are set.
Record won't have you doing the photocopying - every year a number
of interns will end up presenting their projects to the Executive
Committee and one of my largest projects, the compiling of some of
the many articles written from Record over the last 25 years into a
single volume, is still sent round to new starters and potential
clients.
The Record Bursary also provides one Balliol student a year a
great opportunity to get involved with the financial sector
straight out of university. As the first bursary holder to join
Record, I've benefitted greatly from the opportunity to get to know
the company before starting full time, as well as from the
financial support Record provided during my course. Record is also
particularly continuing their relationship with their interns, as
my three internships and subsequent joining show. They are very
keen to stay in touch, organising an excellent annual dinner for
all of their old interns in order to encourage their interns to do
so, and have seen a number of interns, including myself, return not
only for further internships but also for full-time jobs".
